The Catlins

Interesting Facts About NuZlAnD

1. There is a town in New Zealand called Batman

2. The longest place name in the world belongs to New Zealand's own "Taumata whakatangi hangakoauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu", which translates to "The Brow of a Hill WHere Tamatea, the Man with the Big Knees, Who Slid, Climbed, and Swallowed Mountains, Known as Land Eater, Played his Flute to his Loved One" (or 'Brother', depending on the translation. Wow. What a mouthful.

Addendum:

I just did a bit more research, and it turns out that Thailand bests both New Zealand and Wales for the longest place name with this tongue-twister: "Krungthepmahanakonbowornratanakosinmahintarayudyayamahadiloponoparatanarajthaniburirom udomrajniwesmahasatarnamornpimarnavatarsatitsakattiyavisanukamphrasit".
